St. Michaels Golf Club, Little Bay
Open seven days a week, St. Michaels is a links course with spectacular ocean views and in many ways brings back memories of Scotland’s famous St. Andrew’s. Recently ranked as one of New South Wales top ten golf courses it holds a national ranking in the top fifty.
The location is superb, within the Botany Bay National Parkland, and next to the Pacific Ocean. Designed in 1938 to be a tough championship links course the level golf is challenging, but it is one of the few courses in Australia that is environmentally aware, and implements specific programs at protecting resources, flora and fauna.
Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club, Colebee
Meticulously designed by Greg Norman, Stonecutters Ridge is a world class 18 hole championship golf course at Stonecutters Ridge that has been designed to rank among Australia’s top 100 courses.
This hidden gem nestled in the far west of Sydney is located in one of the few places around Eastern Creek still untouched by the urbanisation of Greater Sydney, it features a tricky layout and you can expect a seriously challenging round of golf, with unforgiving bunkers and massive water features.
Mona Vale Golf Club
A group 1 ranked course, Mona Vale regularly hosts the New South Wales Amateur Championship. Mona Vale Golf Club will celebrate its 90th birthday in 2017 is a testament to the designers that this impressive course was once just swamp and sand dunes.
The present course was laid out in 1960 but the layout was soured when the clubhouse was destroyed by fire one year later. Subsequently since then the club has invested much effort in improving the layout of the course, upgrading the drainage and planting trees.
Mona Vale brings two distinct types of course for a very well-rounded experience. The first 10 hole are very challenging in woody, hilled terrain, before 11-18 flatten out around the coast.
