New South Wales has many great towns and cities, and has a thriving events scene. Visitors come from all across Australia to enjoy partaking and watching top sporting, music and cultural events in the state.

Australian Surf Festival

Coffs Harbour – July

The Australian Surf Festival brings together surfing enthusiasts from all over Australia. Over 500 competitors are expected to attend this year and migrate to Coffs Harbour to see who will be crowned the Aussie Champion.

There are various titles up for grabs across multiple surfing disciplines that will create a marvellous surfing festival. Disciplines include: shortboard, longboard, loggers and bodyboard.

The curious thing about this event is that it is a Mobile Surfing Event to ensure the competition retains the best waves on the Coffs Coast.

Arsenal FC Tour

ANZ Stadium – July

If your thing is soccer and the English Premier League, then don’t miss out when Arsenal come to New South Wales in July.

Local teams the Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC take on the Gunners at the magnificent ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Arsenal are one of England’s oldest and most successful clubs, having formed back in 1889 and winning 13 league titles and 12 FA Cups. Watch some of the greatest footballing stars in the world, including: Olivier Giroud, Petr Cech, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez, and Mesut Ozil.

Sydney International Boat Show

Darling Harbour – August

The Sydney International Boat Show is the largest recreational marine event in the southern hemisphere. It all began back in 1968 and the event has grown significantly ever since, and an estimated 3 million visitors have been entertained by its glamour.

In 2017 there will be more than 200 exhibitors in the two venue event, gathering nearly 150 boats to the purpose built marina and a further 700 boats in the exhibition halls.

The Boat Show bring an international crown to Sydney as there are plenty of engaging things to do and see during the event for the whole family.

Bledisloe Cup Festival

Sydney ANZ – August

One of the biggest rivalries in sport anywhere in the world is when the rugby teams of Australia and New Zealand face off against each other. Whenever the Wallabies meet the All Blacks there are sure to be sparks flying.

And the famous Bledisloe Cup pitches the two old rivals head to head against each other. The cup takes place as a three series test, and in 2017 the venues are Sydney, Brisbane and Dunedin.

Sydney hosts the opening game when the ultimate trans-Tasman rivalry is once again ignited. To celebrate the annual battle, a week-long Sydney-based festival of rugby will also include a lunch, a golf day and an Australian Turf Club event at Royal Randwick.

The action-packed week will host many events for the whole family to enjoy, plus opportunities for fans to get up close to their favourite rugby icons.
